I am delighted to say that Goudhurst & Kilndown Church of England Primary School once again opened its' doors in accordance with Government guidance to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 in addition to those children of Key Workers. I know I speak not just for myself but for all the staff, every day has been an absolute joy to watch the children come into school laughing and smiling and then working alongside their teaching teams and friends, sharing their energy and enthusiasm to be able once again to, "learn at school." I would like to share with you some comments from parents whose children are in one of the priority year groups:
"XXX has come home with a reignited spark, his happy self again, which is so great to see. School is definitely the best place for him right now. Thank you for all you are doing."
"I just wanted to say a huge thank you for today. XXX came out of that door beaming and she hasn’t stopped smiling and talking about today. It’s so amazing to see. I know you have both worked so hard along with other members of staff to make it happen. We just wanted to say we are so appreciative, it feels so important for them mentally to be back at school. Thank you, it’s good to be back."
In return, I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone whether in school or still at home, for your overwhelming support and adherence to the ever evolving situation and new rules and I am sure you will join me in thanking the staff for their continued dedication at this unprecedented time.
