Intended Learning - Week Commencing Monday 7th September

Class 4 Giraffes
For week beginning: 2nd September 2020

Hello to you all and a huge welcome back.

I am very much looking forward to covering year four for the next few weeks until Mrs Wyatt returns from maternity leave.

For the next three weeks we are focusing on the " Recovery Curriculum" This will give the children the chance to ease back into the school setting, reconnect with staff and friends and exchange views and findings from their recent experiences. They will all have had different experiences during their time at home and will have engaged with their home learning in a variety of ways. This is not a problem and we are very much more focused on getting the children happily back to school.

As we work through the initial first weeks we will be looking out for children who may need short bursts of intervention or support in any way. We are obviously anxious to return to the normal, normal but must adhere to government guidlines to bring us to that point. We hope that you can support us with this.

Homework will be set weekly on the Google Classroom, this will begin on week three, week commencing 21st Sept

Looking forward to seeing you all on Monday

Much love

Maria Mileham

This week we will be focusing on revision of letter formation for cursive script, looking at joining letters.

This week we are gradually getting back into the swing of things with some fun problem sloving and clue finding exercises which focus on the children's ability to understand and use mathematical language within word problems.

English/Recovery curriculum

For the next few weeks we are focusing on a beautiful book called Here We Are. The activities linked to the text focus on our place in the world. Some of the activities are written, others Drama or art based. Our world can be a bewildering place, especially if you've only just got here. Your head will be filled with questions, so let's explore what makes our planet and how we live on it. From land and sky, to people and time, these notes can be your guide and start you on your journey. And you'll figure out lots of things for yourself. Some things about our planet are pretty complicated, but things can be simple, too:there are lots of us here, so be kind.

COVID and Well-being

Every day with week we will be giving children the opportunity to share their recent experiences and to discuss their responces to the changing world around them.
