UK Indoor Athletics Championships 2025

On Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February I attended the UK Indoor Athletics Championships at the Utilita Stadium in Birmingham.

Athletes take part in track and field events, attempting to reach the standard to represent team GB at the European Championships coming up in March.

It is very exciting to see stars such as Laura Muir and Jermiah Azu competing against new and upcoming talent.

I was most honoured to be able to watch Asha Root an ex Goudhurst pupil competing in the 400 metre sprint. Fairly sure she heard me screaming!

I also spent a lot of time spotting legends such as Darren Campbell, Denise Lewis, Martyn Rooney and Linford Christie, many of whom now coach new talent.
