Welcome to another year of fundraising for our wonderful school. We held our first PTFA meeting on Monday, and we have lots planned for the coming year.
Dragon Boat Racing – A big thank you to our fabulous rowers who competed in two boats last Saturday 10th at Bewl Water. It was a great day of competition, fun, socializing and facepainting. Congratulations to everyone that took part who came in 4th and 5th place overall and who raised £992 in total. Thank you also to all those that sponsored them and for your support
Village Fete – Saturday 24th September 2022 – 12 till 4pm – One of our biggest fundraisers of the year is the Village Fete. It is only made possible by your help. Please help us by signing up to a half hour slot on your class stalls. Your class reps will be in touch but thankyou in advance for your support.
Many thanks to the Devlin family for donating lunch for 2 at Birchwood for the main raffle on the day. It is very much appreciated.
Class Cake Sales – Each class usually runs two cake sales a year and one ice cream sale. Donated cakes from your class are sold after school and the money raised is used directly by your child’s class teacher for things that benefit the class as a whole. Ice cream sale money is used towards the whole school end of year party.
Year 6 cake sale – 23rd September
Year 5 cake sale – 7th October
Year 4 cake sale – 21st October
Year 3 cake sale – 4th November
Year 2 cake sale – 18th November
Year 1 cake sale – 2nd December
Year Reception cake sale 15th December
PTFA AGM will be held on Monday 3rd October at 8pm in the Goudhurst Inn - anyone is very welcome to attend to see what we do and what we have planned for the year.
Save the date: Quiz Night – Date to be decided for October/early November but please start organizing your team of 8-10 to take part! Their will be fierce competition so get swotting on general knowledge and crazy facts!
Village Late Night Shopping – Saturday 26th November 3-8pm – We will be running our annual sweet jar competition after half term (watch out for the flier with all details) and all jars will then be used on our tombola at this event. We look forward to seeing all the amazing designs this year and there will also be a prize for the best adult entry too!
Christmas (Nordman) Tree Fundraiser – Friday 2nd December. Watch out for order forms. Order the size of tree you would like through the school and your beautiful Nordman will be delivered to school on the 2nd for collection by you. It could not be easier and in doing so you also help raise funds for the PTFA.
Whole School Christmas Disco – Date to be confirmed
Christmas Market – Saturday 3rd December 12-3pm – This again is one of our biggest fundraisers in the calender. After last year’s successful outdoor market, we will be doing it again in style this year. We will be sending out lots of requests in the coming weeks so please help if you can. Save the date and come along to support the school. Crafts, games, bbq, mulled wine and mince pies and of course the legendry hamper raffle. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Amazon Smile: Please sign up to donate to the school through Amazon Smile. It costs you nothing but a little time to set up the app and direct your donations to ‘Goudhurst Parent Teacher Association’ when setting it up. With lots of shopping going on over the next few months as Christmas approaches please support us if you shop through Amazon. We have already raised £130 from people shopping using the app.
Easy Fundraising: With Christmas not far away and a significant amount of shopping going on could you please support the school by logging onto ‘easyfundraising.org.uk’ and signing up to ‘Goudhurst & Kilndown Primary School’. For every purchase through major shops a percentage is then sent to the school. It costs you nothing but time to add your name and think of a password and install a toolbar to remind you on your computer to donate when shopping online. With many thanks for your continued support.
Yellow Moon: If anyone purchases anything through ‘Yellow Moon’ could they please support the school by adding the code SGO1137 on checkout and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the school.
Recycling bin at school: Please continue to put any items’ of clothing, shoes, handbags etc into the bin to
be recycled. This is emptied regularly and raises £50 - £70 a time.
Community News: Grannies Attic at the Village Fete in aid of Readycall requires your donations of Bric-a-brac. Unwanted items would be gratefully received.
