PTFA News No.2
Village Fete – Saturday 24th September 2022 – 12 till 4pm
A massive thank you to everyone for your help on Saturday in making the day fabulous, for helping on stalls, setting up, taking down and particular thanks to those that helped get everything back to school and in the right place, (Victoria Fletcher, Beth Evans, Claudia Burgos and her husband and of course Simon Russell). Thanks to Laura Coffey for stepping in for most of the event as face painter extraordinaire! We simply can’t run events like this without your support, and this year we have it in droves! A big, big thankyou xx
A special thank you to Tim Widdowson for comparing the event for the Village Fete Committee. You and Juliette are just fabulous and deserve a special mention! We would also like to thank Sevim & Will Devlin for their generous donation to the main raffle.
The event raised just over £2,000 which will be spent on the Christmas Pantomime, and on all our Christmas events for the whole school. Thank you all for your generous support.
Our King and Queen of the Fete from Year 6 set a great example as they opened the event. Jack Shimmin and Summer Rose perfected their royal wave and were driven to the field in a Willis Jeep, owned and driven by Anna Weeks. A big thank you to Anna for giving up her time to do this and to the King and Queen for being such professionals and stepping up to the job!
Class Cake Sales – Year 6 raised and impressive £119.28 from their cake sale on the 23rd September.
Each class usually runs two cake sales a year and one ice cream sale. Donated cakes from your class are sold after school and the money raised is used directly by your child’s class teacher for things that benefit the class as a whole. Ice cream sale money is used towards the whole school end of year party.
Year 5 cake sale – 6th October
Year 4 cake sale – 20th October
Year 3 cake sale – 3rd November
Year 2 cake sale – 17th November
Year 1 cake sale – 1st December
Year Reception cake sale 14th December
PTFA AGM will be held on Monday 3rd October at 8pm in the Goudhurst Inn - anyone is very welcome to attend to see what we do and what we have planned for the year.
Quiz Night – Friday 11th November. Please start organizing your team of 8-10 to take part! There will be fierce competition so get swotting on general knowledge and crazy facts! More details to follow.
Village Late Night Shopping – Saturday 26th November 3-8pm – We will be running our annual sweet jar competition after half term (watch out for the flier with all details) and all jars will then be used on our tombola at this event. We look forward to seeing all the amazing designs this year and there will also be a prize for the best adult entry too!
Christmas (Nordman) Tree Fundraiser – Friday 2nd December. Watch out for order forms. Order the size of tree you would like through the school and your beautiful Nordman will be delivered to school on the 2nd for collection by you. It could not be easier and in doing so you also help raise funds for the PTFA.
Whole School Christmas Disco – Date to be confirmed
Christmas Market – Saturday 3rd December 12-3pm – This again is one of our biggest fundraisers in the calender. After last year’s successful outdoor market, we will be doing it again in style this year. We will be sending out lots of requests in the coming weeks so please help if you can. Save the date and come along to support the school. Crafts, games, BBQ, mulled wine and mince pies and of course the legendry hamper raffle. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Amazon Wish Lists – The principle of this is that class teachers will add things to your child’s class wish list and if you feel you want to you can log on and purchase something which will be sent direct to school and benefit your class directly. Links are below per class:
