Science

Science is important; it underpins every aspect of our lives

Our 'hands-on' curriculum closely follows and meets all of the expectations of the National Curriculum over a 2 year cycle for Key Stage 1 and a four year rolling plan in Key Stage 2.

Every two terms, children in each key stage will undertake the same science topics, based on discrete subject areas of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.  With different age differentiated teaching delivered in each of the four years, lessons are heavily biased towards 'hands-on' opportunities for children to develop a Scientist's skill-set.

Those progressive specific skills of planning, data collection and analysis feature and are focussed upon each term. This hands on, practical. enquiry based approach ensures children are more than secondary ready by the time they leave in Year 6.
