Science

Science is important; it underpins every aspect of our lives.

Our 'hands-on' Science curriculum closely follows and meets all of the expectations of the National Curriculum and is based on the 'Kent Scheme' - the Primary Science Scheme of Work provided by The Education People (TEP).

We include the different Enquiry Types that children could use to investigate scientific ideas or questions, detailed below using a summary graphic from the Primary Science Teaching Trust.

Our school values are embedded throughout our Science curriculum, ensuring that we utilise our outdoor space to learn about the habitats around us to working with nearby schools to offer experiences of secondary science, or visit local places of scientific interest such as Herstmonceux Observatory.

Our vision for science learning at our school shares our ambitions reflected through our values.
