Welcome to Class 5 Zebras

Welcome to Zebra class!

We are so pleased to welcome you to the Autumn term of year 5!  

Our theme for this term is journeys, linking to our Geography topic in year 5 of exploring the Earth, including lines of longitude, latitude, time zones and different regions of the world (e.g. The Tropics, The Equator, The Arctic and Antarctica). 

In science, we are exploring two topics: Animals, including humans  and Space.  We will start with looking the lifecycle of animals, the different stages of life including puberty and how we age.  We will then move on to look at aspects of Earth and Space that the children have not already covered in earlier schemes of work.

We will start our exploration of colour and outdoor spaces, by studying the landscapes of Vincent Van Gogh and the sculptures of Andy Goldsworthy.  Before Christmas we will look at how Banksy uses the outdoor as a canvas for his work too. 

P.E. will usually be on a Tuesday and Friday, starting with Netball and Football. 

Finally, in RE we will be looking at Christianity, starting with Christians relationships with God.
