Wow. What a turnout! I hope you all had a wonderful time at the party. It was very important to me that the children took ownership of their party and spent the afternoon setting it up (they did a great job by the way). Whether you spent the whole time looking through your child's book on a cushion on the floor, looking at their work around the room, or just enjoying spending some time together eating some cake(!), it was lovely to watch and be a part of. Many thanks for the contributions of food, and I can only apologise for not being forward-thinking enough to buy a tiger costume to wear!
Elephant class worked hard in the last couple of weeks of term to design, make and evaluate their own puppets. From Minions, Harry Potter and Voldemort to LFC footballers and princesses, there was a wide range of different puppets.
On the last day of term, we celebrated their hard work by planning and performing puppet shows in small groups.
What a wonderful day! We have created a gallery to show all the pictures that were taken yesterday. Everyone looked amazing and had an awful lot of fun too. Thank you for helping create such amazing costumes.
We started off the day with a costume parade and photoshoot in the hall with Year 2, where we played all sorts of old games, or games inspired by old toys. After play time we went back to our classrooms and Year 1 spent time sketching the toys that we are borrowing from the Maidstone Museum. Later on, we had a visit from Mrs Thompson, who had all kinds of exciting old toys- the most popular being a wind up backflipping dog toy! We finished off by designing our puppets, ready to make the next day...
