Visiting Dads As Writers

On Friday 16th 2012 four fathers visited our school to work with each KS2 class to help inspire children to write. We were very fortunate to have a wide range of expertise. Year 3 worked with a father who is a journalist for The Times. Year 4 worked with a father who works in media linked to motor racing. Year 5 worked with a father who is the the ghost writer for Andy McNab (Bravo Two Zero). Year 6 worked with a father who is a script writer for 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'. Each father worked alongside the class teacher to plan and deliver a one and half hour writing workshop. The children (and dads!) thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were inspired to produce a range of high quality writing. A big thank you to the four dads who gave up their time to help develop our children's writing. Please click on the left to view further pictures.
