Welcome to Class 6!
In your final year at Goudhurst & Kilndown we will predominantly consolidate learning so far, becoming 'secondary ready'. We hope that you will become more independent, resilient and reflective as a learner but have a lot of fun along the way too! Highlights of the year include looking after a Reception Class buddy, a week long residential trip and taking a leading part in the school's summer play. Forest School is an integral part of school life and Class 6 enjoy a session per week over 2 terms in the school forest as well as numerous outdoor learning opportunities. You will also get the opportunity to learn about the Ancient (and Modern civilisation) of China, coastal erosion and the Tudor period (from a local perspective). Other experiences include the chance to take part in a bikeability course and local days out with your buddies to the Bedgebury Forest. During the course of the year, you will be encouraged to take on responsibilities within school such as Head Boy or Girl, office duty at lunchtimes, or taking part in a Dragon's Den competition as well as representing the school and Kent in many sporting activities.
