Welcome to week 3 of the summer term 6! Well, last week went by in a flash! The children had their end of year assessments and did a fantastic job! They also had lots of fun in between, particularly with the Kilndown to Goudhurst walk and the fencing workshop we attended!
Thank you to those parents who attended the CATS consultation sessions on Tuesday. It was lovely to see you all and deliver wonderful information about your children. If you were unable to attend and would like to discuss results and 11+ information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please, another reminder, as the weather is due to get warmer the children are expected to have to correct uniform in school for such occasions. I ask that they all have a hat and sun cream available and a re-usable plastic bottle for water. PE is outdoors for the remainder of term and the children are expected to wear the correct shorts and t-shirts! No more trousers please at it gets very warm very quickly! I had many disappointing conversations with children about not having their PE kit with them because they have had their kit for a sports club the day previously Unfortunately this is not acceptable and PE kits should be in school every day. This week we have PE on Wednesday and Friday.
Just a note, we have the whole school photo on Monday afternoon. Therefore, correct school, uniform is essential. Whilst on the topic, if your child is wearing a shirt of any sort, they must wear a tie; even in a short sleeved shirt.
As the children are reading more at school and hopefully at home, I ask that they complete an Accelerated Reader test as soon as they have completed. They have done very well recently and I’d love to continue this! However, we have some children who have read one million words…and some who have read nothing according to Accelerated Reader. If you have any problems, please do ask the children to sort these with me. Most books should be on there! TO LOG ONTO ACCELERATED READER CLICK HERE: https://ukhosted34.renlearn.co.uk/2241001/
Please continue to encourage and support your child with their spellings each week. They are so important for their writing and becoming a super speller means a lot for all children!
Trumpet lessons continue to be every Tuesday. Please ensure the children come to school with their instruments.
MA books are back in full swing and I (and Mrs Clarke) expect these to be returned every Thursday. I also ask that the children look over their ‘think for pink’ corrections too.
As always, my door is always open at the end of the day if you wish to discuss anything further J
Enjoy your weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning J
