Events this week:

 Friday: Today is a non-uniform day, and children are asked to bring in some chocolate for the chocolate tombola at the Summer Fete.


This week, we will be learning how to

add and subtract fractions with the same or similar denominators

count up in tenths and understand tenths as part of place value


This week we will be learning:

about the suffixes ness, ful, less and ly

about the apostrophe for single possession


We will be learning about the story of Pentacost.


This term we will be creating our own games, and doing cricket


Homework: Given out on Wednesday 2nd May, returned Monday 7th May:

Maths:  Section 2,  Test 11

Topic: Write a letter to a character from one of your favourite books. What would you ask them? Would you give them advice? Remember to include the features of a letter (address, greetings, yours sincerely etc.)

Spellings: Week 11 list.


We will be using charcoal to sketch self-portraits, we will compare these with how Ancient Egyptians drew themselves.


We will be reading a French version of the story 'Little Red Riding Hood' and learning the french words for parts of the body


We will be learning the song 'Bringing us together'

History and Geography

This week we will be investigating artifacts and finding our that our knowledge of the past comes from a variety of sources.

We will also be finding out about the location of Egypt.


We will be practicing our typing skills, and creating a script for an advert for a radio broadcast.


We will be continuing our theme of Howard Carter's discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, and learning about how to write letters.

Children will read and write letters to and from Howard Carter.
