Monday 30thApril and Tuesday 1st May (Mrs Benson)

Class 2 Kudus
For week beginning: 30th April 2018

Have a look at the news letter for information about May day (1st May). It would be lovely to see lots of you there!

I am hoping to plan an afternoon of 'Pond-dipping', observational drawing and mini-beast hunting on the afternoon of May 22nd. It would be a lovely way to celebrate the end of our 'Nature Detectives' topic. It would obviously be depended on dry weather. If you were able to come and help/join in, please let me know. I am afraid due to the pond area being open, toddlers will not be able to join us. There will also be no chocolate on offer this time....but hopefully lots of fun!

I am still in communication about a trip to Scotney to do some activities. As soon as a date has been confirmed I will let you all know. Mrs D is also sorting out a trip for the summer.

Thank you! Mrs B

We are focusing on both reasoning and arithmetic this week. The class will also be doing some survey work and will create a bar chart from their results.

We are going to do some more work on possessive apostrophe and the children will be writing a news report on our 'Living Eggs' experience. We will continue with our comprehension activities this week, with a piece of writing about local birds.

We are going to be learning about birds in our local environment and we will be doing our own bird survey in the school grounds. We have been hugely impressed with the amazing mini-beasts the children have bought in and the factual writing too. If your are keen to continue being creative with your children we would love a few bird models to hang on our display and in the classroom! A few fact-files about British birds would be fabulous too! Thank you!!

We will be learning and repeating basic french commands and request.

The children have been loving our outdoor PE session and their skills are developing well. Each we we set up circuits with different equipment and the children rota in groups.
