Thursday 31st October and 1st November 2019

Class 2 Kudus
For week beginning: 28th October 2019

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a wonderful half term break and are looking forward to the next term – tinsel and all!  Our whole class topic this term is Lights, Camera, Action with the finale being the Nativity performance.  Slightly nearer to the time (although it’s only just around the corner!), we will be asking children to apply for specific parts but we will give you plenty of notice as we find that this is most effective if done at home.

Parents Consultation evenings are being held on Tuesday 12th November and Thursday 14th November – please look out for school correspondence with instructions on how to sign up for a slot.

Have a good week,

Mrs Donoghue

In tune with our Lights, Camera, Action theme, I will be sharing the story of The Bear and Piano this week, which will be our main text for the next few weeks.  This wonderful story is about a bear who stumbles upon a piano in the forest and goes on an incredible journey to New York, where his piano playing makes him a huge star. He has fame, fortune and all the music in the world, but he misses the friends and family he has left behind.

This week, we will focusing on greater than/less than using the symbols < > =.  Please help us at home if you can, such as comparing peas and carrots on a plate (for example!).

This week’s spelling focus in ‘le’ – this is a great one to focus on as these are very tricky and so many children (and adults!) write el as of course, that is how it sounds!    The children will be tested through dictation on Friday 1st.

We will be starting a new unit this week – Creation - and discussing the theory that Christians believe God made the world in 7 days.

Mrs Mileham will be taking the children for their PE session this week, focusing on ‘Multi-sports’.
