Monday 23rd and Tuesday 24th May ( Mrs Benson)

Class 2 Kudus
For week beginning: 23rd April 2018

Thank you so much to those of you who found the time to help your child create a mini-beast for our display. It is looking fabulous! There is still time if you want to get creative! The children were all given the option of having a 'Writing for Pleasure' book. The aim is to encourage the children to write a bit more at home ( or at school- so please ensure the book lives in the reading folder!). They are welcome to write about anything that interests them, but it needs to be both well presented and neatly written. The info in the front of the book explains the things we would love to see in terms of the skills. I was amazed at how many children wanted a book! I am looking forward to reading their work. No pressure! It was an idea to develop enthusiastic writers..... please do not feel it has to be done at a set time, or every week.

Mixed questions with a focus on using bar model and numberline written methods. We will also be doing some whole class reasoning and problem solving using white boards.

We will be working on reading comprehensions ( linked to wild birds and chickens) and we will be completing some mixed grammar and punctuation challenges.

We will be mini-beast hunting and researching this week and will also be learning about the life-cycle of a chicken linked to our living eggs project.

Outdoor multi-skills cicuits activities.

The children will be watching clips and identifying familiar vocabulary and discussing the meaning.

We will talk about resilence and why it is important to keep trying and to stay positive.
