Thursday 15th & Friday 16th November 2019

Class 2 Kudus
For week beginning: 11th November 2019

Lights Camera Action!  Thank you for supporting your child with a letter applying for a part in the forthcoming production.  We shall enjoy reading them all and will confirm our decisions in the near future then it will be full flow into rehearsing, singing and sewing (maybe for one or two of you!).

Parents Consultation evenings are being held this week – we look forward to seeing you all then.

Have a good week,

Mrs Donoghue

One of our objectives this week is to use inference skills to write questions based on the image of the bear in our focused text  - The Bear and the Piano.  This will then lead to a character profile of the bear drawing ideas from the previous lesson.

We will start each lesson with ‘number of the day’ where the children will be able to show their understanding of a range of models (part/whole, bar models/number lines) to represent a number.  Then we will be moving onto problem solving and a mini assessment, testing the children’s knowledge of place value before we move onto a new unit.

The children have created a Creation booklet which shows how God created the world in 7 days and what each day means to them.  This week, we will be concluding the Creation unit but discussing and completing the statement ‘The best thing about the world is…..’

I will be taking the children for Infant Agility this week.  Infant Agility is based around developing core physical skills including coordination and agility, core stability and special awareness.  We have a picture book of all the PE activities the children have been involved since September in the classroom – do feel free to come in and have a look!

The children will be continuing with Djembe drumming with Mr Jackson this week!J

Hopefully you all received the Study Bug message advising you that we will be practising ‘el,il,al’ spellings again this week.  They are really quite tricky and therefore I think it is fair to give them all another week.
