W/c 8th May 2018

Class 2 Kudus
For week beginning: 8th May 2018

I will be in class on Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday this week.

We have had another lovely week and so glad that the week ended it better than it started (weather wise!).

We have lots of activities planned next week including a little more preparation for ‘puzzle books’ but as I have said before, this is done in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.   For your information, we will be doing the SATs on 14th  & 15th May and 21st and 22nd May when both myself and Mrs Benson can be in class together.  Whilst illness cannot be avoided, please do give your child the best opportunity by ensuring they are in school on those days – it is so much nicer for them to do these papers with the rest of the class.

Best wishes and enjoy the sunshine.

Mrs Donoghue

Persuasive writing is our theme this week; the children will follow the successful pattern of planning their work in the creative map books before the BIG WRITE on Thursday and Friday (depending on when they go to Forest School.

We will be working on fractions this week, identifying half and a quarter of a shape and number.  We will also continue with ‘puzzle books’ as mentioned in last weeks intended learning.

We will continue understanding the Islamic Faith this week and investigate the answer to ‘Who is Muslim?’ and ‘Why is the Prophet Muhammed important to Muslims?’

The children will be using the laptops this week and will be having a go at creating their own games.  We will use this opportunity to discuss being safe online however, we will not be accessing the internet for this activity.
