Thursday 10th October 2019 - Mrs Donoghue

Class 2 Kudus
For week beginning: 7th October 2019

The children did you all proud at the Harvest Festival service on Friday.  They were literally ‘rock & rollin’ in the aisle!  I am in on Thursday only this week;  Mrs Benson will be in class on Friday so there is little disruption to the children.  For the next two weeks, the spelling test will be on Thursday rather than Friday.  I have sent home a Studybugs message with some additional spellings this week as there are only few silent ‘g’ words to learn (may as well make the most of the opportunity!).  :-)

Have a good week,

Mrs Donoghue

We will ‘upskilling’ on Thursday and activities will include writing sentences with capital letters to including connectives, such as ‘and’ and ‘because’ to extend sentences further.

Place value continues to be our focus this week and the children will be offered a variety of problems to solve, therefore allowing them to apply their knowledge in a different way.

Words beginning with silent ‘g’ take centre stage this week, however there are only 5 so I have added on some ‘everyday words’ for the children to learn too.  These are:  because, what, when, they, very.

I will taking the children for Netball this week.

The children will be continuing with Djembe drumming with Mr Jackson this week!J
