Intended Learning- Week Commencing 27.11.17

Class 1 Elephants
For week beginning: 27th November 2017

I hope you had a lovely weekend. It’s hard to believe that we are nearly in December!  The classroom will be getting very glittery very soon! Here is our intended learning for the week.

We will practise recognising and representing numbers up to 20.

We will continue our learning about Burglar Bill. We will be practising writing sentences with full stops and capital letters, learning what adjectives are, and using them in character descriptions of Bill.

We will be learning the different ways to write down the ‘ai’  phoneme (sound) : a, ai, ay, eigh, ey, a_e

We will be practising all the tricky words we covered so far this year.

The children will be making Christmas decorations (!)

We will be talking about what to do when we feel lonely or when someone else feels lonely.

We will think about why Christians might think it is important to protect the environment.

We will continue our units of indoor athletics and using the large apparatus.

The nativity practises are in full swing, and hopefully you have heard some of the songs at home by now!  I’d like to remind you that if you are unsure about costumes, we can help if necessary.

Church Advent Service

I hope you have all received your invitation to the Church Advent Service on Sunday the 3rd, which we are hoping the children will be able to participate in. They will be singing a Christmas carol, amidst lots of other contributions.

A few children have come in recently without coats when we have needed to be outside for lessons. As a former “shorts in winter” child, I do understand, but as we are reaching December it is important that they have a coat every day- just in case! Thank you for your understanding.
