Intended Learning- Week Commencing 13.11.17

Class 1 Elephants
For week beginning: 12th November 2017

I hope you had a lovely weekend. I’m looking forward to discussing how well everyone is doing this week on the Parent’s Evenings on Tuesday and Thursday! Here is our intended learning this week.

We will be reviewing our experiment from last week after some unexpected results led us to retest the seeds we started to grow!

We will be describing and sorting different 2D shapes, as well as making some patterns with them.

We will be learning about smugglers this week. We will be learning what a smuggler is, making a timeline of events, and making wanted posters.

We will be identifying alternative pronunciations of the following sounds:

a- (as in hat, acorn, fast, and was)

y -(as in yes, by, gym, and very)

ch (as in chin, school, and chef)

ou (as in out, you, could, and mould)

Tricky Words- eyes, friend, once please

The children will be making their own teabags to link in with their smuggler work.

We will be discussing bullying as part of the whole school anti-bullying week.

We will continue our units of indoor athletics and using the large apparatus.

As I’m sure you are aware, Christmas is fast approaching, and in preparation we have already started learning our songs for the nativity performance. Please keep an eye out for a letter with details about what your child needs to bring for a costume!

Police Dress Up Items

Thank you for the donations so far! If there are any more toy helmets or handcuffs that you don’t want any more, please do let me know.

We will continue our Hands, Feet and Heart unit. We will also be practising some songs for the nativity.
