The Governing Board of the school has three core functions: to ensure clarity of the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school, to hold school leaders to account for the performance of the school and to oversee the financial performance of the school. We have a board of 12 governors who come from all walks of life who meet regularly and monitor the work of the school throughout the academic year. Governors are expected to have a strategic oversight of the school and are not involved in the operational side of the school which is delegated by the Board to the Headteacher. It is an interesting and rewarding voluntary role and one of the biggest voluntary workforces in the country. Click on the link to find out more about being a governor.
We are recruiting “co-opted” governors so if you know anyone in the community who might have the skills we are looking for or who might be interested in governance, please do put them in touch.
